Adding and arranging questions in the builder
Learn how to add, reorder, and configure questions using the builder's left rail and canvas.
The builder has three columns. On the left is a rail with two panes: "Add", which holds every field type you can add, and a map of the form itself — labelled "Screens", "Questions" or "Fields" depending on the layout you chose. The middle is the canvas, and the right is the Properties sidebar for whichever question is selected.
Adding questions
- 1Click "Add" in the left rail to see every field type, grouped into Screens, Contact Info, Choice, Rating & Ranking, Text & Media and Other. The search box at the top filters them.
- 2Drag a field type from the Add pane onto the canvas at the position you want. An insertion line shows you exactly where it will land.
- 3Or work from the map pane instead: "Add screen" ("Add question" / "Add field", depending on your layout) opens a short list where a single click appends the field. "Add welcome" and "Add ending" are there too.
Reordering questions
Click and hold any question on the canvas, then drag it up or down. The others shift to make room. You can also drag the thumbnails in the map pane, which is quicker on a long form since you can see the whole thing at once.
Configuring questions
Click any question to select it. The Properties sidebar on the right will show all configurable options: title, description, placeholder text, required toggle, validation rules, and field-specific settings like min/max values for number fields or options for multiple-choice questions.
Use Ctrl+Z (or ⌘+Z on Mac) to undo any change. The builder supports a full undo/redo history so you can experiment freely.
