Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the questions we hear most often.
From the dashboard, click "Create" and describe what you need — one sentence is enough — then click "Plan my form". The AI comes back with an outline of the questions it intends to ask, which you can edit, reorder or add to. When it looks right, click "Build my form" and the finished form — questions, logic and theme — is written for you in seconds. You can also start from a template, import an existing form, or open a blank form and build it yourself.
Yes! Use the "Import Form" button on the dashboard. You can paste a form URL or raw text, and Spiceform will recreate the structure automatically, including question types and options.
The Contact CRM automatically creates contact records from form submissions. You can map form fields (like email, name, phone) to contact properties, tag contacts, filter them, and use them in email automations.
Yes, and it takes one switch. Open the form, go to Settings → Notifications and turn on "Email me new responses". It is off until you turn it on, and it is per form, so a form you do not want mail about stays quiet. On Hot and above the email arrives within seconds of a submission with the answers in it; on the free Mild plan you get one summary a day covering every form instead. You can add colleagues too — one extra address on Hot, four on Fire, as many as you need on Inferno — and each of them confirms by email before anything is sent to them. Abandoned, half-finished responses never trigger an email, and neither does anything the spam filter caught. If you ever want it to stop, turn the switch off or use the unsubscribe link in the email itself, which stops response alerts only and leaves your account and billing emails alone.
Automations are multi-step workflows, and they need the Fire plan or above. In Dashboard → Automations you build one that starts when a form receives a response and sends the email you write — to yourself, to the person who submitted, or to an address you choose — with waits, conditions and follow-up steps in between. If all you want is to be told when somebody responds, you do not need this: that is the email alert switch in each form's own settings, included on every plan. Automation emails are sent with full DKIM/SPF compliance for maximum deliverability, and on the Inferno plan you can send from your own custom domain.
Open the automation and switch to the Runs tab. If there is no run for that response, the automation never started — usually because it is switched off, because it was published after the response arrived, or because the conditions on its trigger did not match. If there is a run, click it: the canvas shows the path it took and stops at the step that failed, with the reason next to it. Once you have fixed the cause, Retry carries on from where it stopped, and Replay runs it again from the beginning.
Yes. Open an automation and click Agent, then describe what you want in plain language. It proposes a plan first — the steps it intends to add and why, plus anything in your request it cannot do — and only builds once you approve. It works on your draft, so nothing goes live until you test it and publish it yourself. Planning and building each cost credits, shown on the buttons before you press them.
AI credits power every AI feature: planning and building forms, the Agent, Ask AI, Smart Insights, imports, translations, and the FAQ with AI and Clarify with AI your respondents use inside your forms. Each plan includes a monthly allocation (20 on Mild, 500 on Hot, 2,000 on Fire, 8,000 on Inferno) that resets every billing cycle. Actions cost between 1 and 5 credits depending on how much work they take — a complete form is 5 (1 to plan it, 4 to build it), a message to the Agent is 4, and small jobs like a translation or an in-form AI answer are 1 — and anything that fails or is refused is refunded automatically.
Absolutely. Spiceform supports five embed modes: Standard (iframe), Full Page, Popup, Slider, and Popover. Each mode generates a ready-to-paste code snippet you can drop into any HTML page or CMS.
In the builder, open the Connect tab. For Zapier, paste a webhook URL to send submissions to any of 5,000+ apps. For Slack, configure a channel webhook to receive real-time notifications. The Connect tab sends every response. If you only want some of them to go — big deals only, or after a two-day wait, or once someone has approved it — use the same app as a step inside an automation instead, on the same connected account.
Yes. Add the Calendly element to your form, connect your Calendly account once, and pick which event type respondents should book. The scheduler appears inline — respondents pick a time without ever leaving the form, and the booking syncs to your Calendly calendar instantly.
One at a time shows each question on its own full-screen step with auto-advance (Typeform style). Single page shows every question on one scrolling page with a single Submit button (Google Forms style). Classic renders the form as a printable A4 paper document with fields on a grid — exportable to PDF, with a guided zoom/pan experience on mobile. Pick the layout from the "Layout" pill in the builder's top bar, or up front on the plan screen before the form is built. Note: logic destination jumps are paused on Single page and Classic (your rules stay saved); Payment, Calendly, and Clarify with AI questions require One at a time.
